For those of you who think Joomla might be a brilliant addition to your arsenal but are afraid to take the plunge and try it out, I have a treat for you!

I've come across a brilliant tool that lets you install Joomla locally for either test or demonstration purposes. You can even put it on a flash drive and use it on any machine.

It's incredibly simple. Just download the zip file, unzip it, and run the joomla.exe file. You can log into the backend and test out templates, components, extensions, whatever. And they remain part of your installation until you remove them. Brilliant!

Joomla admin user is (admin) and the password is(admin)

It took forever to extract everything from the zip file BUT it was soooooo worth the wait.

People, seriously, get onto this, it's a fantastic way to learn how to navigate and use a Joomla site.

I'm actually using it at school at the moment. Our school's website is in Joomla, and we're running a training program for the student council to get them up to speed in how to use Joomla so they can maintain the website.

It pretty cool as we can just let them experiment and even set a test and they won't break the real one. Now if I could only get the other teachers to show some interest....
