Forum / Gallery Solution 1 Year, 3 Months ago
Hi y'all,

I want to create a forum, and a gallery(possibly in the forum?) where members/subscribers can upload photos to share with other users.

I have a license for ico-content (software the populates forums using Yahoo! Answers), and have to use SMF for the forum.

My issue is:

I simply cannot get the ico-content to work and am getting absolute stuff all help from their support.

I think the issue is that I am using Joomla for the gallery section, and so am using a SMF bridge between Joomla and the forum. And the bridge is whats giving me grief.

So I'm looking for a solution that will let me use SMF and have a gallery of sorts.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
Please?

Hi Casey,

Great to see you are back. What appears to be the problem with ICO-Content. From all account I've heard from Nez this software works. (I know I'm dobbing Nez in here but he is probably your best bet for help). As for galleries there are plenty of joomla gallery component and the one we us the most is ZOOM. Its pretty stable goes occasionally give some grief. However SMF does allow users to upload pictures to the forum but that's not really a gallery.

I've used SMF and the joomlahacks SMF bridge and it does work and I'd be surprised if the bridge is causing you the problem. But it is a hack so anything is possible.

PM Nez and ask for his help or PM me and I'll have a look

Hi Casey,

I'm pretty sure it won't be a bridge issue. It's more likely a cron job or setup issue in the SMF admin section. I'm happy to try and help you if you'd like. Just PM me.

Cheers,
Nez

Hi Nez and Simon,

It's very possible that it's not a bridge issue.

I guess i'm just assuming that's what it is as I had my host check cron job setup and I've tripled checked the SMF setup, so I thought 'what else could it be?'.

I'll send you the details and if you get a spare moment would appreciate it dearly if someone could have a stickybeak at it.
